Xbox is turning back the clock as it celebrates its 25th anniversary, unveiling a limited-edition console inspired by one of the most recognizable designs in the brand’s history.
During the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, Microsoft introduced the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition, a special version of its flagship gaming console featuring a translucent green chassis that pays homage to the original Xbox era of the early 2000s.

Through the semi-transparent green casing, users can see internal design details, while the console’s illuminated green accents further reference the look that helped define Xbox’s identity when it launched in 2001.
Microsoft said the Series X25 also contains several hidden surprises and Easter eggs embedded throughout the console’s design. It is also releasing an Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition alongside the console. Like the Series X25, the controller adopts a translucent green finish and incorporates design cues inspired by classic Xbox hardware.
According to Xbox, the special-edition devices were created to celebrate the players and communities that have supported the platform over the past 25 years. The company described the release as a tribute to its gaming legacy while looking ahead to the future of the brand.
The Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition will be available in limited quantities beginning November 2026 in select markets. The controller will also be sold separately. Pricing and availability details for additional regions have yet to be announced.
