Garmin Run Asia is now in the PH, and here’s what to expect

Whether you’re a fitness newbie or a seasoned athlete, a fun run is a fantastic way to get moving.

And what’s more encouraging is when you are inspired to sprint towards your best life and become a champion of your own.

So get ready to chase your personal bests as technology company Garmin announced that the Garmin Run Asia Series 2024 has arrived in Manila for Filipinos to take part in their “Zero to Hero” journey.

“Garmin Run Series is a journey that began in 2022 across three countries: Taiwan, Malaysia, and Thailand. And this year, we celebrate runners from nine countries across Asia, including the Philippines for the very first time this year,” Garmin brand manager Dorothy Jarantilla said during the press conference. “Through this event, we aim to foster a culture of health and camaraderie among Filipinos.”

Happening on November 17 at Filinvest City, Alabang, the run comes with different categories: 5k, 10k, and 21k. It is expected to gather 5,000 runners from all over the country, with exciting prizes awaiting the winners.

Ryan Tan, founder and chief executive officer of Nauts and Vectors Company Inc., the exclusive distributor of Garmin in the Philippines, said that it is time to push the boundaries on our health and fitness with the Garmin Run.

“As a champion in personal growth through challenges, Garmin Philippines would like to encourage runners of different levels and from all walks of life to come together to run and celebrate our journey to better health,” he said. “From humble beginnings to triumph, together, let’s go from zero to hero. We will help you impart on a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and success.”

Participants who complete their category within a specified time will get Garmin merchandise and products from sponsors like Anker, Soundcore, and Century Tuna. They will also receive an electronic certificate of achievement and a completion medal.

Early bird registration fees for every category are P1400 for 5KM, P1600 for 10KM, P2200 for 21KM from June 12 to November 15. This is to secure their slots early.

Garmin Philippines is also launching five running clinics spearheaded by renowned coaches to help prepare newbie runners for the marathon. Coaches, which will be announced soon, will share running techniques, effective training methods, and more. One can also opt to join the brand’s Run Club for training programs tailored to every level of runners.

The running event also coincides with the 35th anniversary of Garmin.
