In a dynamic fusion of innovation and purpose, OPPO, leading global smart device brand, has partnered with R2R, social enterprise, to champion Filipino artisans and promote sustainability through a unique limited-edition collection. This collaboration aims to intertwine fashion, creativity, and sustainability, delivering a message of joy and inspiration.

R2R works with artisans who helped weave the bags. They are Loreta Bohol, an R@R weaver and Cynthia Cabrera, Community Enterprise Manager, from R2R Payatas, Marissa Gozon, Community Coordinator and Artisan weaver from Hulma community Caloocan, and Donnalynn Bulunan, Community Coordinator and Artisan weaver from Paradise Heights Tondo.

The collaboration brings together OPPO’s partnered creatives Rei Germar, David Guison, Pam Quiñones, and Daryl Chang, alongside R2R artisans. Together, they showcase their creativity by designing limited edition bags, placing Filipino craftsmanship and sustainability at the forefront.

“OPPO, fueled by continuous innovation, is dedicated to impactful partnerships like R2R. This is just the beginning of our shared journey to promote sustainability,” shared Joanarc Sales, Head of PR and CRM at OPPO Philippines.

    Collaboration rooted in sustainability

In a landscape dominated by fast fashion, OPPO and R2R’s collaboration stands as a significant stride towards sustainability. Crafted from sustainable materials, the exclusive fashion pieces encourage support for local artistry, tradition, and environmental conservation.

Rei Germar designed the dumpling bag which has a woven body made with upcycled fabric and gussets made with indigenous fabric in Binetwagan weaves. Its details include genuine leather trims, a magnetic snap top closure, cotton fabric lining, and inner side snaps to transform the dumpling bag into an onigiri-shaped handbag.

Pam Quiñones designed the Loop Bag which features a woven body made with upcycled fabric in a checkerboard pattern. This is R2R’s first completely hand-stitched bag, with no machine used to make it. It is also a vegan bag, with no other components except the fabric used to make the body.

Daryl Chang’s Ring Sling Bag contains a leather drawstring pouch, a round zip purse, and a phone sleeve in jersey woven panel, all attached to a round ring through metal hooks. It also comes with a detachable and adjustable leather strap.

The Pixel Crossbody Bag designed by David Guison is a rectangular crossbody bag made with upcycled fabric woven into a Blocks pattern. It features genuine leather trims, a top zip closure, an exterior back zip pocket, and cotton fabric lining. Both the short handle and wide, adjustable long strap are made with genuine leather. It comes with a bag charm in the form of a key ring and upcycled fabric tassels.

Helping Filipino artisans enjoy the present

By collaborating with R2R, OPPO is also helping these artisans enjoy the present this Holiday season. The campaign, which will launch a limited-edition bag collection, is an ideal stage for R2R’s partner artisans’ talents to be recognized.

Reese Fernandez-Ruiz, President and Founding Partner of R2R, Joanarc Sales, Head of PR and CRM at OPPO Philippines.

Profits from the collection will directly benefit the families of R2R artisans, and OPPO products will be provided to enhance their daily lives.

“We thank OPPO for amplifying our local artisans’ talents and strengthening our shared mission of promoting sustainability,” said Reese Ruiz-Fernandez, President and Founding Partner of R2R.

Score These Limited-Edition Meaningful Fashion Pieces!

If you’re looking for a perfect, memorable Christmas gift, these limited-edition pieces are ideal for you. You’ll surely put a smile on your gift recipient’s face while making the local artisans’ Christmas truly merry by purchasing these exclusively designed bags.

Each piece is priced at Php 3,500 and you may avail it for pre-order via the R2R website.

All of the proceeds from your purchase will go exclusively to the R2R artisans to help them further their craft and livelihood.
