Google is bringing a more personalized version of its artificial intelligence (AI) assistant to the Philippines, so users can connect their own data for more relevant and tailored responses.

The feature, called Personal Intelligence, is now available in the Gemini app. It allows users to link services such as Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube, and Search so the AI can better understand individual preferences and past activity.

Google said most AI tools today rely on general knowledge, but Personal Intelligence is designed to go further by using personal context. By connecting selected apps, Gemini can retrieve details from emails, photos, and other content to answer questions more accurately.

For example, a user planning a trip can ask Gemini to create an itinerary based on previous travels. The AI can review past bookings, photos, or saved places to suggest a more personalized plan instead of starting from zero.

The feature is powered by Gemini 3, Google’s latest AI model, which is built to distinguish between general queries and those that require personal context. This allows the assistant to combine information from text, images, and videos when generating responses.

Google emphasized that privacy controls are built into the system. Personal Intelligence is turned off by default, and users must manually enable it and choose which apps to connect. Access can be revoked at any time.

The company added that Gemini does not directly train on private data from Gmail or Google Photos. Users can also review how responses are generated, ask for sources, or switch off personalization for specific conversations.

Google acknowledged that the feature may still produce errors, including incorrect assumptions about user interests. Users can correct responses or provide feedback to improve accuracy.

The rollout is currently limited to eligible Google AI subscribers, with plans to expand access to more users in the coming weeks. Once enabled, Personal Intelligence works across web, Android, and iOS devices.
